I've been single for several years now, living alone with my young daughter for a lot of them. I quite enjoy it. Not because I want to be alone, but because I want the person I share my life with to be someone who doesn't add to my stress, workload, or expenses. Unless or until I find someone who helps make life better for both of us, like I try to do, I'm very content with my own company. Isn't it odd how many people expect a woman to be desperate to be with someone just because she's single? I don't think it's weird to want to retire from taking care of people who don't appreciate it after 30 years. Do you?
